Which laser cleaning machine do you need?

Pick by the job. Light rust, oil and oxide on parts: 200 W. Paint, coatings, welds and molds: 300 W, the one most buyers choose. Thick paint over large areas every shift: 500 W. All three are pulsed, so thin sheet does not warp.

What do real laser cleaning results look like?

These are sample parts cleaned with pulsed laser cleaners like ours: rust off steel, carbon off spark plugs, oxide off a gear and paint off saw blades. Results depend on the coating and its thickness, so ask us for a video on a part like yours.

How do the 200 W, 300 W and 500 W compare?

The 300 W carries more than three times the pulse energy of the 200 W, so it lifts paint and coatings in fewer passes. The 500 W adds energy and a wider sweep for large areas, but draws up to 3,000 W and needs a dedicated circuit.

Pulse energy (mJ) is how hard each pulse hits; watts are how much light comes out per second. Two quotes that both say “300 W” can hide very different pulse energies. Our laser cleaning machine buying guide shows which tier fits each job.

Pulsed or continuous-wave: which laser cleaner fits your work?

Pulsed fits most factory work: thin sheet, aluminum, welds, molds and parts you will paint or mark. Continuous-wave (CW) machines cost less per watt and suit thick rust on thick steel, but they heat the part and can warp thin sheet. HeatSign sells pulsed machines only.

In one published test by engineers at a laser source maker, a pulsed laser removed thin paint 3.5–7.7 times faster than a CW laser at the same average power. See the full comparison in continuous vs pulsed laser cleaning.

Why is HeatSign’s 300 W pulsed cleaner under $10,000?

HeatSign sells factory-direct from China, with no US warehouse or dealer margin in the price. US-stocked 300 W pulsed cleaners in the listings we checked ask about $11,000–16,000. The trade-off: support is remote, and the machine ships to you.

What the price includes

  • The machine, handheld gun and 5 m armored cable
  • Wireless control screen and the standard field lens
  • Laser safety goggles and spare protective lenses
  • Video training and remote setup help

What it does not include

  • Freight, unless you choose our door-to-door price
  • Fume extraction for your shop
  • Extra protective lenses: they are consumables
  • Field lenses and the fiber cable are not covered by the warranty

What happens after the machine arrives?

You plug it in, set up with our video training and start cleaning. We build the 200 W and 300 W for 110 V or 220 V, so tell us your voltage when you order. Plan a laser safety officer, OD4+ goggles at 1064 nm and fume extraction, and keep spare protective lenses on hand.

  1. Build and ship. The 300 W is built in 5–7 working days. We quote door-to-door with US duty and customs included, or ex-works if you use your own broker.
  2. Set up. A setup video and a video call walk you through power, modes and safety.
  3. Daily care. Check the protective lens every day; replace it when you see burn marks.
  4. Support. Technical support is free for the life of the machine. Message us on WhatsApp or email; we can also help by remote desktop.

Laser cleaning machine FAQs

How much does a laser cleaning machine cost?

HeatSign’s pulsed laser cleaning machines cost about $6,500–8,000 for 200 W, $7,500–10,000 for 300 W and $13,000–15,000 for 500 W. US-stocked pulsed machines we checked list at about $9,000–30,000. Continuous-wave machines cost less per watt but heat the part.

Should I buy 200 W, 300 W or 500 W?

Buy 200 W for light rust, oil and oxide on parts. Buy 300 W for paint, coatings, welds and molds; most buyers choose it. Buy 500 W only if you strip thick paint over large areas every day.

Can a laser cleaner run on a 110 V outlet?

Yes. HeatSign builds the 200 W and 300 W for 110 V or 220 V, so tell us your voltage when you order. The 200 W draws under 600 W; the 300 W draws at most 1,500 W (about 4.5 A at 220 V), and on 110 V a standard 15 A outlet works. The 500 W draws up to 3,000 W, so plan a dedicated circuit.

How often do the protective lenses need replacing?

Check the protective lens every day and replace it when you see burn marks or spatter. How fast it wears depends on the coating and the fumes. Lenses are consumables, so order spares with the machine.

Do I need a laser safety officer and fume extraction?

Yes. Laser cleaners are Class 4. US practice under ANSI Z136.1 is to name a laser safety officer, and everyone nearby needs OD4+ goggles at 1064 nm. OSHA expects ventilation for the fumes, so use a fume extractor at the gun.

How long does delivery take, and who pays import duty?

The 300 W is built in 5–7 working days, then shipped by express or sea. HeatSign’s door-to-door US price includes duty and customs. If you use your own broker, we quote ex-works and you handle the duty.

What happens if the machine breaks?

The machine and the laser source each carry a 1-year warranty; lenses and the fiber cable are wear parts. Technical support is free for the life of the machine: we troubleshoot by video call, WhatsApp or remote desktop and ship replacement parts from China.

How fast does a laser cleaner clean?

It depends on the coating, its thickness and the power. In one published test, a pulsed laser removed about 1.1–2.8 m² of thin white paint per hour. Thick or pitted rust is slower, so ask for a video on a part like yours.
