Industrial-Grade Brass Laser Engraving: Precise, Deep, and Equipment-Safe.

Brass demands power and precision without the risk of back-reflection. Whether you need deep industrial etching or high-contrast branding for luxury goods, HeatSign delivers permanent, sharp, and reflective-safe marking solutions.

The Science of Brass: Mastering High-Reflectivity Surfaces

Brass is notoriously difficult for standard lasers because it reflects energy like a mirror. HeatSign’s Fiber Laser technology is engineered to turn this challenge into a competitive advantage.

Anti-Reflection Security

Protects Your Equipment. Every HeatSign system includes a standard integrated optical isolator. This prevents back-reflection from reaching the laser source, support 50000+ hours of stable, damage-free operation on even the most polished brass surfaces.

High-Absorption Fiber Technology

Ensures Sharp Clarity. Our lasers are optimized at the 1064nm wavelength for superior energy absorption on non-ferrous metals. This allows the beam to “bite” into the brass surface instantly, creating high-definition marks that traditional lasers simply cannot match.

Versatile Contrast Control

One Machine, Multiple Effects. By precisely tuning pulse width and frequency, you can achieve three distinct results: Brilliant White for luxury branding, High-Contrast Black for scannable data codes, and Deep 3D Relief for industrial molds.

Brass Marking Solutions: Matching Your Machine to Your Metal

Choosing the right laser for brass depends entirely on the size, shape, and mobility of your parts. We offer three optimized platforms to cover every application, from fine jewelry to massive castings.

cylindrical laser engraving machine

HS-FL30-R: The 360° Rotary Specialist

  • Price Range: $2,950 ~ $4,500

  • Ideal for: Brass valves, cylindrical pipe fittings, polished cups, and rounded musical instruments.

  • Why Choose This Machine: Engineered to solve the challenge of curved surfaces. Equipped with an integrated rotary axis and a 30W high-performance laser, it ensures uniform depth and zero distortion when marking around the circumference of brass tubes or tapered awards.

How to Choose Your Brass Laser Marking Machine?

Brass is a beautiful material, but it’s also “stubborn.” Because it reflects laser energy like a mirror, choosing the wrong system isn’t just inefficient—it can actually damage your laser.

The right choice depends on your workpiece geometry and production environment. Use the comparison table below to find your perfect match.

Which One is Right for You?

  • Choose the HS-FL35D if you work with small, flat items like brass nameplates, jewelry, or electronic tags. It is the most cost-effective solution for professionals who need high-definition results without sacrificing workshop space.

  • Choose the HS-FL30-R if your brass parts are curved or cylindrical. A standard laser will distort the mark as the surface curves away; this machine uses a synchronized rotary axis to keep the focus perfect 360° around the part.

  • Choose the HS-PFL30M if your items are too heavy or large to move. This is the industrial “point-and-shoot” workhorse for marking large brass pumps, heavy gears, or fixed plumbing infrastructure directly on the factory floor.

💡 The “Power vs. Depth” Rule

  • 20W~30W: Best for high-contrast “Surface Branding” (Black or White marks).

  • 35W – 100W: Required for “Deep Industrial Etching.” If your mark needs to survive heavy abrasion, chemicals, or years of polishing, go for the higher power.

Unsure Which Machine Fits Your Project??

Brass alloys react differently to laser power based on their composition and finish. Don’t guess—let us prove the results before you buy.

Direct-to-Part Productivity: The Handheld Fiber Advantage

Why bring the parts to the machine when you can bring the laser to the parts? This real-world demonstration shows our handheld fiber laser engraving unique serial data on brass plates, delivering the same depth and clarity as a benchtop system but with total mobility.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to engrave brass? Won't the reflection damage the laser?

With the right equipment, yes, it is perfectly safe. While brass is highly reflective, all HeatSign fiber lasers come standard with an integrated optical isolator. This component protects the laser source from back-reflection, allowing you to mark even mirror-polished brass without any risk of hardware damage.

Can I achieve high-contrast black marks on brass?

Absolutely. By utilizing a 35W/ 50W / 60W fiber laser and precisely tuning the pulse width and frequency, you can create high-contrast, oxidation-rich black marks. These are ideal for scannable QR codes and premium logos that need to “pop” against the gold-toned background.

How deep can the laser engrave into brass?

For industrial applications, we can achieve depths of 0.2mm to 0.7mm and beyond. While a 20W machine is great for surface branding, our 35W deep marking systems are the “power hitters” for deep 3D relief engraving or creating durable stamps and molds.

Can this machine also cut thin brass sheets?

Yes. While primarily designed for marking, a 35W deep fiber laser with 1.5mj pulse power can cleanly cut brass sheets up to 0.1mm – 0.6mm thick. This is perfect for creating custom-shaped tags, shims, or intricate decorative stencils in a single workflow.

Does the marking fade or wear off over time?

No. Unlike inkjet or chemical etching, laser engraving is a permanent physical change to the metal’s surface. The marks are abrasion-resistant, heat-proof, and chemical-resistant, making them the gold standard for aerospace and industrial traceability.

Do I need a PC to operate the brass marking machine?

It depends on the model. Our Desktop version like HS-FL35D/HS-FL30  units typically connect to a PC via USB. However, our Handheld Series (HS-PFL30M) features an integrated touchscreen and built-in software, allowing you to mark “on-the-go” without any external computer.

Are there any recurring costs for ink or parts?

None. Fiber laser technology is 100% consumable-free. You don’t need ink, ribbons, or chemicals. The laser source is rated for approximately 100,000 hours, meaning the only “cost” is the minimal electricity required to run the machine.

Can I automate the marking of different serial numbers?

Yes. Our software supports Dynamic Data Linking. You can import an Excel / CSV file or set auto serial number,  and the laser will automatically update the serial number, barcode, or batch code for every subsequent piece, eliminating manual entry errors.
