How does on-the-fly (flying) marking actually work?

A photoelectric sensor detects each product as it enters, and a rotary encoder reads your conveyor’s exact speed. The laser then marks every item in the same position while it moves — so the line never stops, even if belt speed varies.

How fast is a high-speed laser marking machine on a line?

Yes — these systems are designed for moving production lines. The sensor and encoder keep the mark aligned even as belt speed changes. Marking speed reaches up to about 8,000 mm/s, though the real figure depends on laser power, code size, and software settings. Tell us your line speed and code, and we size the power and scan head.

Fiber, CO2, or UV — which do I need?

Metal parts and caps: fiber. Paper, cardboard, PET bottles, glass, and wood: CO2. Thin or heat-sensitive plastics (PE, PET, HDPE), films, vials, and PCB: UV, because its cold mark won’t melt or warp them.

Will it replace my inkjet (CIJ) coder?

Yes. A laser marks permanently into or onto the surface — no ink, solvent, or ribbons, and no clogged nozzles or daily cleaning. You cut consumable cost and downtime, and the code can’t smudge or rub off.

How permanent is the mark, and can it be scanned for traceability?

The mark is fused into or onto the surface, so unlike ink it won’t smear, wash off, or fade. It produces sharp, scannable barcodes, QR, GS1, date, and lot codes that survive handling, washing, and storage.

Can it integrate with my conveyor and controls?

Yes. Each system ships with the encoder and sensor, and mounts over your existing conveyor. We help with placement, focus height, and triggering, and provide setup videos and remote support.

What does it cost, and what's the lead time?
