HeatSign Handheld Marking System

  • 1.5 kg handheld laser marking head

    Light Weight (1.5 kg)

The marking head weighs only 1.5 kg. It is easy to hold, so your hands will not tire during long marking jobs on the shop floor.

  • Cone eye protection shield on marking head

    Eye Protection Cover

A cone shield covers the laser spot and blocks bright reflections to keep the operator safe during active use.

  • Adjustable slider rails for different part sizes

    Adjustable Slider Rails

Move and adjust the slider easily to fit and trace metal parts of different sizes.

  • Lens protection fan clearing dust and smoke

    Lens Protection Fan

A fast fan under the head blows away smoke and dust to keep the glass lens clean and working perfectly.

Other Handheld Options

  • Heavy bulky handheld laser gun

    Heavy and Bulky Heads

Other gun designs are heavy, often over 2.5 kg. They strain your hands and are hard to hold steady during daily shifts.

  • Open laser exposure without eye shield

    Open Laser Exposure

Most basic choices have no face or eye shield. Stray laser reflections can easily hurt nearby workers.

  • Fixed rigid bracket that cannot adjust

    Fixed Rigid Bracket

A rigid frame cannot change its size, making it hard to mark small parts or narrow metal tools properly.

  • Dirty lens covered with dust and debris

    No Debris Clearing Fan

Without an active fan, smoke and dust stick to the lens, lowering power output and cutting code contrast.

Portable Fiber Laser Marking Machine: Frequently Asked Questions

Short, direct answers to the questions buyers ask before choosing a handheld fiber laser marking machine.

What metals and plastics can this portable fiber laser marking machine mark?

It marks all common metals: stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, brass, copper, titanium, gold, and silver. Marks are sharp and permanent.
Plastics are different. A fiber laser marks some plastics well, but many plastics will not mark at all. some plastics can be marked, but it gives off fumes that need good ventilation or extraction.
Not sure about your part or plastic? Send a sample for a free test.

Will the marks survive acid washing, sandblasting, or outdoor coatings?

Mark first, treat later is the wrong order. Do surface treatments before laser marking for the clearest result.

If a part must survive years of harsh outdoor wear, use our Dot Peen Marking Machine instead. It presses deep dents that stay readable through coatings.

Will the marks meet VIN, Data Matrix, and UDI traceability rules?

Yes, when the mark has the right contrast and grade.

It makes permanent serial numbers, VIN characters, barcodes, QR codes, and Data Matrix codes for automotive (IATF 16949 / VIN), aerospace (AS9132, MIL-STD-130 UID), and medical (FDA UDI) use.

Send your part and target standard. We mark a sample and check the code grade before you buy.

Is a handheld fiber laser safe, and what eye protection do I need?

Treat it as a Class 4 laser. The 1064 nm beam is invisible, and reflections off shiny metal can hurt your eyes.

Every operator must wear laser glasses rated for 1064 nm. Normal or welding glasses do not protect you. There is one eye goggle come from the machine.

The head has a cone shield to block stray reflections. It is better use it in a controlled area, with good ventilation.

Can I mark curved pipes or uneven surfaces?

It works best on flat or near-flat surfaces.

The laser focuses at a set distance. On curved or uneven parts, the focus drifts and the mark quality drops a lot. So we suggest keeping to flat areas.

If you must mark pipes or curved parts, talk to us first — we can advise on focus spacers or fixtures.

Do I need a computer, and can I load my own logos and serial numbers?

No computer needed. The built-in 7-inch touch screen runs everything.

For logos and graphics, the software uses the PLT format. Other file types need to be converted to PLT first.

The system also makes serial numbers and dates that count up on their own, and can read a name list from a spreadsheet.

How much maintenance does it need, and what about warranty and support?

Upkeep is low. There are no inks, no gas, and no cooling water.

Main task: wipe the lens at the end of a shift. The built-in fan keeps most dust off while you work.

Every machine comes with a 1-year warranty, setup help, training videos, and lifetime online support.

Can I use the machine while the battery is charging?

Yes. You can keep marking while the optional 22.2V battery charges from a power source, so work never stops.

A full charge takes about 2 hours and gives 3–4 hours of cordless use — handy for remote yards or spots with no power outlet.

You have seen the specs, the power options, and the safety design. Now let’s make it real. Tell our engineers what you mark — pipes, castings, tags, or tools — and we will confirm the right wattage, lens, and power source, then send a clear price. No guesswork, no pressure.

Trusted Worldwide: Portable Fiber Laser Marking Machine Reviews

When parts are too large, heavy, or already installed, a portable laser marking machine helps bring permanent marking directly to the worksite. See how users evaluate HeatSign’s portable laser after real setup, field operation, focusing, battery planning, and daily marking work.

We chose the battery version for marking parts in areas without easy power access. It works well for short field jobs and inspection tags. For a full day of work, we still plan charging time or keep AC power nearby. The portability is useful, but it is not unlimited runtime.

We use the 50W portable model to mark ID numbers on large steel frames before shipment. The best part is that we can bring the machine to the part instead of moving the part to a table. The mark is clear, but the operator still needs to keep the head steady and check focus before each job.
