What are the benefits of the HS-FLD Deep Metal Engraving Laser?
⚙️ One-Touch Autofocus & Motorized Z-Axis Achieve perfect depth control effortlessly. With one-touch autofocus and a motorized Z-axis, the machine automatically tracks and adjusts the focal length as it carves deeper into the metal, ensuring flawless, hands-free precision layer by layer.
💻 Zero 3D Modeling Skills Required Skip the steep learning curve of complex CAD software like ZBrush. The included EzCad software and LaserEmboss plugin instantly translate your standard 2D grayscale depth maps into precise 3D carving paths. If you can import a photo, you can carve in 3D.
⚡ High-Speed Continuous Deep Engraving Powered by a customized multi-pump 1.5mJ laser source and paired with a high-speed galvo scanning head, the HS-FLD is built for heavy-duty production. It sustains massive pulse energy for continuous, non-stop deep engraving, drastically reducing your processing time and maximizing your daily output.
🔪 Razor-Sharp Edges & Clean Bottoms Premium optics and a high-speed galvo head deliver extreme piercing power. This completely eliminates the ugly “stair-step” effect common in cheaper lasers, giving your EDC items ultra-crisp edges and incredibly smooth pocket bottoms.
Transform Blank Metal into High-Margin Art
Standard surface marking limits your profit. With the HeatSign HS-FLD 2.5D laser, you are no longer just marking the surface—you are physically carving metal. This allows you to create stunning, tactile 3D reliefs that collectors and EDC enthusiasts are eager to pay a premium for.

Do I need advanced 3D CAD or ZBrush skills to create 3D reliefs?Absolutely not. This is the biggest advantage of the HS-FLD series. You do not need to learn complex 3D modeling. Our included software reads standard 2D Grayscale Depth Maps (where darker shades mean deeper cuts). As long as you can download or create a black-and-white gradient image, the software instantly generates the precise 3D laser carving path for you.
What does the customized 1.5mJ pulse energy mean for deep engraving?
It means massive piercing power and cleaner cuts. Standard 30W lasers usually max out at 0.6–0.8mJ. The HS-FL35D uses multi-pump technology to deliver a massive 1.5mJ single-pulse energy. When carving extreme hard metals like titanium or stainless steel, this high energy effortlessly vaporizes the metal without excess heat buildup. This prevents yellowing or burning, ensuring sharp edges and flat, clean pocket bottoms.
How long does it take to deep engrave a standard 30mm brass challenge coin (0.5mm depth)?
Typically 15 to 25 minutes with the HS-FL35D, depending on the complexity of the 2.5D relief design. If you upgrade to the HS-FL60D (60W), you can cut that processing time down by roughly 30%. Unlike traditional CNC micro-milling, there is no tool wear, no bit-snapping risks, and zero physical clamping required.
Does 2.5D deep metal carving produce a lot of smoke and dust?
Yes. Because deep engraving physically vaporizes metal, proper ventilation is mandatory. Carving materials like brass and steel generates fine metallic dust and smoke. We strongly recommend pairing the machine with a desktop fume extractor to protect your respiratory health and prevent debris from settling on the F-Theta lens, which can degrade laser power over time.
Will the finished 3D relief have ugly "stair-step" lines?Almost none. Cheaper lasers often struggle with harsh, stepped layers during deep carving. The HS-FLD utilizes an advanced 2.5D slicing algorithm combined with our high-speed scanning galvo head to achieve micro-millimeter layer compensation. This creates extremely smooth, natural gradients that look and feel like hand-finished tactile art.
Do I have to waste blank materials testing laser parameters for different metals? No, we eliminate the guesswork. Every machine will include HeatSign Official Support. Tell us what material you want to engrave, we provides our suggested settings (power, speed, frequency, line spacing) for your material, there are most popular engraving materials(EDC metals, including Brass, Copper, Titanium, 316 Stainless Steel, and Damascus. You Just dial in the settings and start engraving.
Can I add a rotary attachment later to engrave rings or tactical flashlights?Yes, it is fully supported. The HS-FLD series features a built-in, plug-and-play rotary drive port. You can easily connect a chuck or roller rotary attachment at any time to perform seamless 360-degree deep engraving on rings, tactical pens, and cylindrical gear, instantly expanding your custom workshop's capabilities.
