What can JPT Laser Source Do for You?

JPT fiber laser source is a pulsed laser, through photoelectric conversion output laser. It is mainly used for metal material marking, aluminum deep engraving, aluminum oxide black marking, on-the-fly marking, dissimilar metal welding, bitmap printing, photovoltaic silicon wafer cutting, new energy battery lug cutting, laser cleaning and other applications.

Why Choose JPT Laser ?

  • JPT laser source that uses a direct electrical modulation semiconductor laser as a seed source (MOPA) solution.
  • It has perfect laser characteristics and good pulse shape control ability.
  • Compared with Q-switched fiber lasers, the master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) laser technology have more flexibility, can achieve lower and higher frequencies, and have a smaller opening delay.
  • For JPT laser engraving and marking needs, LP series laser source has greater flexibility, wider frequency range, higher control precision and superior first pulse. Compared with the M series products, the seed source uses waveform compensation, the amplified pulse distortion is corrected, and the output pulse energy is higher.

JPT Laser VS Raycus

As we all know, Raycus laser is one of the popular and cost-effective lasers on the market, but usually the adjustable frequency of Raycus 20W, 30w, 50W fiber laser is only 20~80 kHZ, but JPT laser normally can reach 1~400 kHZ, which means JPT fiber laser source can be applied to more materials marking and achieve more effects.

The following is a comparison video of Raycus and JPT laser marking on stainless steel.

How to Replace and Install the JPT Fiber Laser Source?

1. Fix the JPT laser to a suitable position in the control box
2. Connect the software board and 24V switching power supply
3. Install the laser output head to the optical path of the laser machine

How to Choose the Right JPT Laser Source for You?

Since HeatSign specializes in industry marking, let’s talk about how to choose a JPT laser source for pulsed fiber laser marking.

The choice is mainly based on the scope of your application. The main considerations are the following factors,

Power : If the laser is used for cutting metal, the laser power is at least 200W or more, or a kilowatt laser, generally will choose the imported type of continuous light laser. If it is used for metal marking and engraving, the laser is mainly pulsed light laser below 50W.

Common JPT fiber laser engraver is usually used by the output power of 20W, 30W, 50W laser. The greater the power, the better the marking range or engraving depth can support. Of course, it does not mean that the greater the power is better, for non-metallic materials such as plastics, the high power is easy to burn the material too much, so that the marking results are not good. So you have to choose different power lasers according to the specific needs.

Adjustable Frequency: The main laser source on the market such as Raycus, Max usually have adjustable frequency only 20~80 kHz, but JPT lasers can usually reach 1~400 kHz. So what can more adjustable frequency do for you?

Suppose you want some different marking results or engraving on some special materials, we need to use different KHz settings. So, when we have more adjustable frequency kHz, we can set more different parameters to mark more different marking results as well as adapt to more different materials. This is the main reason why the JPT laser can be used to engrave more non-metallic materials than other fiber optic power sources.

Pulse Width: In our common lasers, such as JPT’s LP series, the pulse width is not adjustable, but if you want better and smoother marking results, then you should consider JPT’s M series, The M7 series is the most popular, which is true MOPA technology,

Mopa laser is suitable for the fine marking process of metal and non-metal materials. Such as digital product parts laser engraving black, cell phone keys, translucent keys, cell phone shells, key panels, electronic components, oxidation, plastic marking, crafts and gifts, oxidation treatment and coating electroplating spraying and other surface treatment.

For example, many friends consul the cell phone back cover marking requirements to achieve the result same like iPhone back cover, then you also need a mopa laser marking machine to make it, ordinary laser machine marking results are not so fine, which will have brown edges.

Price: If you are on a budget, consider the LP series of 20W and 30W lasers from Jephte, which are inexpensive and have the performance to meet most marking needs. If you need to mark efficiently and with a certain depth of engraving as a result, then choose at least the LP Series 50W laser. If you have higher requirements, such as large scale marking, deep engraving, and thin sheet metal cutting, then the JPT M7 series 60W, 80W, and 100W are more suitable, but they are also much more expensive than the LP series,

Overall, JPT’s lasers range from $1300 to $13000, depending on your actual needs.

Size: You have to consider whether your equipment has enough space for a JPT laser source. The higher the output power of the laser source you choose, the larger the size, and if you are designing a very portable machine, you may need to customize the fiber laser source to a smaller size.

In short, the choice of JPT laser is highly dependent on the application you are ultimately trying to achieve, and you can choose the best laser source within your budget for different materials and different marking requirements.
